Hurry Up And Wait

If there is one motto that sums up the actor’s dilemma it is, “hurry up and wait.” You spend most of your time waiting for that next audition, or rehearsal, or performance. It seems you’re dependent on everyone else to put your skills to work. Since there is so much “waiting”, it’s easy to see the “waiting” as wasted time. That need not be the case. There are ways to put that “waiting” to work.

One way would be classes that hone your bedrock skills as an actor. But, what about the time between classes? Can you practice what you learned in class on your own? This can be tough with a once a week classes because no one class can give you an understanding of the whole process. As a result you’re not quite sure what to practice between classes.

The intensive version of Green Room Professional Level 1 makes it easy to put the “waiting” to work. With Intensive Level 1 you cover the entire approach developed by Steven Ivcich in three consecutive days of high impact training. Understanding how everything relates to everything else makes it easy to apply what you’re learning immediately in auditions, rehearsals, and performances. You’re also able develop ways of “practicing” that turn downtime into time spent developing your skills on an ongoing basis.

Is this intense way of working a good fit for you? To find out you have to try it on. The best way to do that is to take the Green Room Professional 90-Minute Exploratory. This free class let’s you experience this approach “hands on” to see if it’s right for you.

Steven Ivcich teaches this free class. As originator of this approach, he’s able to convey its real world applications and at same time provide a new vision of how acting really works.

The next Green Room Professional 90-Minute Exploratory will be on Saturday, March 16th from 1:00-2:30pm or 3:30-5:00pm at our Chicago Ave studio space. Sign up for a spot here.
